Miguel Cotto is famous for defeating Shane Mosley , Michael Jennings , Paul Malignaggi and Joshua Clottey. Cotto displayed toughness against Clottey, he fought untill the 12th round with a cut above the left eye in an accidental headbutt on the 3rd round.



Miguel Cotto came from a family that loves boxing, his father "Miguel Cotto Sr.", his brother Jose Miguel Cotto and his uncle Evangelista Cotto. Due to his outstanding skills and technique, he was voted for " Boxer of the Year "from the World Boxing Organization.

On November 14, 2009 is the much anticipated bout of Miguel Cotto versus Manny Pacquiao.


Miguel Cotto was defeated by Antonio Margarito on July 26, 2008. It was his only loss but still a controversy because Margarito was found using illegal hand wraps during a fight against Shane Mosley. They speculated that Margarito might have used the same wraps to defeat Cotto.
